Wondering about God?

Before you were born, God knew you.  He says in Isaiah 44 "I am your Creator, You were in my care even before you were born."  It is no accident that you are here and He says that he has a purpose for each person.  "I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to give you a hope and a future."
God desires that we discover and know the life He has created for us, here on earth and forever in eternity.  Ephesians 1:11 - ...he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and every one.
God created us to have a relationship with us, but He created us with a free will to chose to know him.  God never forces us to chose Him.   Sin, making our own poor choices that take us no where, separates us from God.  However God designed a way to forgive us of those sins and give us the ability to have a relationship with Him.
HOW DO I HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD AND GET BACK TO THE PLAN HE HAS FOR ME?   All have sinned and fallen short of God's glory. But Jesus came to the earth and paid for the sins we have committed by giving His life in place of ours.  He was crucified and rose again, and because of doing this in our place we are able to have a relationship with God.
"For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God."—1 Peter 3:18 (NIV)
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."—Romans 5:8 (NIV)
Believe: Believe that Jesus died for your sins, in order to bring you to a saving relationship with Him.  Salvation is a free gift from God, you can’t earn it, you can’t buy it, you can only receive it.  Ephesians 2:8 “ For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.”—

When we act upon our inward belief its called faith, how important is faith?  The scriptures teach in Hebrews 11:6 “Without faith it’s impossible to please God.”  That’s important!…Faith is to grace what a signature is to a promissory note, it’s an endorsement on our part of the grace that we’re receiving given to us as a gift by God.

Repentance:  This means to turn around, go the other way…if you’ve been going south in your walk with God, you need to turn and go north.  To repent means to change our minds about how to live this life.
Acts 3:19 -Turn from your sins and turn to God so you can be cleansed of your sins.
2 Pt 3:9 “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”

Confession: To confess means to openly admit our past sin and our only hope in Jesus.   Luke 12:8 “And I say to you (Jesus is speaking), everyone who confesses Me before men, the Son of Man will confess him also before the angels of God;” Romans 10:9  that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;.

Baptism:  To be immersed into Christ is to bury our old way of life, to rise to walk in the newness of life (Romans 6).   Peter on the day of Pentecost said:  "Each of you must turn from your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."  Acts 2:38 . The Greek word for baptism literally means, to dip under water.

Abundant Living:  Ephesians 2:10  “For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”  Happy are those that serve, for in so doing we find our purpose, our focus, and our joy.  God has a great plan for your life.  Jesus said in John 10:10 that "He came to give an abundant life." So God only wants the best for you.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A CHRISTIAN? Once you have believed Jesus died for your sins, repented of your sins and are baptized you are now able to have a relationship with God.
RULES?  Do I have to follow a bunch of rules and have no fun in my life when I am a Christian? That is a big misconception!  God planned your life and He wants to share your life with you and show you the great things He has planned for you.  God wants the best for you always –Jeremiah 29:11
“Long before he laid down earth's foundations he had us in him, had settled on us as the focus of His love.”  Ephesians 1:4

“You Lord, give perfect peace to those who keep their purpose firm and put their trust in you.”  Isaiah 26:3

God has many great things to say about us and to us in the Bible.  The book of Luke is a great place to start to understand better who Jesus is.  The book of Acts describes what God's plan and pattern is for a church.  The book of Psalms is for encouragement.
